World-renowned key-note speaker Sir John Jones led our recent Leadership Seminar on the subject of Inspiring Leadership through Challenging Times – Teaching in the 21st Century. Sir John, who received a Knighthood in 2003 for his services to education, delivered a thought-provoking, challenging and truly inspirational seminar focusing on the powerful impact teachers have on young people, and how learning can make a profound difference to their lives.

Sir John worked most of his professional life in challenging schools across the North West. Whilst he acknowledges that demographics play a part in destiny, Sir John spoke passionately about ensuring they are not used as an excuse to limit educational outcomes. This certainly struck a chord with delegates and provided the opportunity to reflect on how children’s needs are being met locally.

Sir John spoke enthusiastically about the power of positive phrases, brilliant questions, learning without limits and having unconditional positive regard. Making excellent leadership a habit, creating magical moments and focusing on the brilliant basics were all key aspects of his talk. Sir John’s empathy and passion shone through while key messages were skilfully explored through superb storytelling and humour.

Delegates included Head Teachers, Senior Leaders, Middle Leaders and Aspiring Leaders who found Sir John’s talk to be ‘inspirational’, ‘life- changing’ and ‘highly motivational’.

Sir John has a reputation for being one of the most entertaining, inspiring and sought-after speakers on the global educational stage and our delegates could certainly attest to that.
