Westbridge is committed to making a contribution to the quality of the future leaders working in our schools. We see Leadership Development and Succession Planning as interconnected strands.

The foundations of our strategy are in the recruitment of high quality primary and secondary trainees to the Kingsbridge programme of ITT. Through this rigorous training programme we aim to develop every trainee to become an outstanding practitioner. All trainees are placed in partner or associate schools where they are mentored to a very high standard by highly trained Professional Mentors and Subject Mentors. All trainees attend weekly professional learning sessions delivered by outstanding practitioners and consultants. Early identification of leadership potential enables the consultants to adapt the programme accordingly for these individuals.

We support teachers moving towards positions in middle leadership and those aspiring to senior leadership via the provision of bespoke leadership courses and by signposting to nationally accredited courses.
For those already in leadership positions, our regular Leadership Seminars provide an opportunity for like-minded professionals to listen to cutting edge speakers on a range of leadership topics designed to provoke discussion and challenge thinking.
